Simple Ingredient Gluten Free Dairy Free Recipes
Share
Five ingredients or less. That's the rule. Not five ingredients plus "salt, pepper, and olive oil don't count." Five ingredients total, including the oil and the salt.
When you eat gluten free and dairy free, simple should mean simple. But most "simple" recipes still have eight things, three of which you don't own and one of which costs $9.
These recipes actually mean simple. You can count the ingredients on one hand. You probably have most of them already. And dinner is done before you've had time to overthink it.
Simple ingredients. Simple cooking. Real food.

1. Three-Ingredient Chicken Thighs

Prep Time: 2 minutes | Cook Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
- 4 chicken thighs, bone-in skin-on
- Olive oil
- Salt
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Rub chicken thighs with olive oil and salt.
- Place skin-side up on a sheet pan.
- Roast 25 minutes until skin is crispy and internal temp is 165°F.
Why It Works: Three ingredients. Chicken, oil, salt. Each thigh delivers about 26 grams of protein. The skin crisps in the oven and creates its own flavor. You don't need garlic powder or paprika or anything else. Salt and heat do the work. Sometimes the simplest version is the best version.
2. Eggs and Avocado

Prep Time: 2 minutes | Cook Time: 5 minutes
Simple ingredient gluten free dairy free recipes at their most basic.

- 1 avocado
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Hot sauce (optional, doesn't count toward the 5)
Instructions:
- Fry eggs in olive oil.
- Slice avocado.
- Plate together. Salt everything.
- Hot sauce if you want it.
Why It Works: Eggs provide 18 grams of protein. Avocado adds healthy fats and fiber. Olive oil replaces butter. Salt is the only seasoning. This is a 7-minute meal from four ingredients that covers protein, fat, and micronutrients. Simple doesn't mean incomplete.
3. Banana and Peanut Butter (On Something)

Ingredients:
- 1 banana
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- Rice cakes or gluten free toast
Instructions:
- Spread peanut butter on rice cakes or toast.
- Slice banana on top.

Why It Works: Three ingredients. Peanut butter delivers 7 grams of protein plus healthy fats. Banana adds potassium and natural sweetness. The rice cake or toast provides the base. Two minutes, zero cooking, and it actually fills you up because the fat and protein slow the sugar absorption.
4. Tuna and Rice

Instructions:
- Microwave rice.

Ingredients:
- 1 can black beans
- Microwave rice
- Salsa
- Salt
Instructions:
- Heat beans in microwave.
- Microwave rice.
- Combine. Top with salsa. Salt.
Why It Works: Four ingredients. Black beans provide 15 grams of protein and 15 grams of fiber per cup. Rice and beans together make a complete protein. Salsa adds flavor and vitamin C. This meal has fed cultures around the world for centuries. It's simple because simple works.
6. Sweet Potato With Salt

Keep it simple. Feed yourself. Done.
